If you have a heart problem, you certainly don’t want to use diet pills of any kind. They can be extremely hard on the heart, even the over the counter ones. Being a diabetic does not mean you can’t lose weight, it’s just that everyone wants to do it over night. Try the South Beach diet. Many dietitians and nutritionists recommend it for their patients that are diabetic and it was designed for people with heart problems. Just skip phase one and start with phase 2. Or learn to count carbs. Your meals should consist of no more than 45 grams of carbs each meal and you can have 2 daily in between meal snacks that are no more than 15 grams of carbs each. As far as exercise, all you have to do is walk every day for 30 to 45 minutes. If you stick to either one of these diets, trust me, you will lose weight and it will be easier to keep off than if you did it with diet pills. The South Beach diet will teach you about good and bad carbs, and gives you lists of things you can and cannot eat. It is a very easy, safe diet and weight loss can be quick in some cases…it depends on how much you weigh now, and how well you stick to the diet and how much exercise you get. It claims to get rid of belly fat first. I use this diet all the time, to control my disease. In the beginning, as with any diet, it can be a little hard, but is actually very easy compared to many diets. It does not tell you to eat a certain portion of food, and does not count carbs or calories. You will like it, most who try it do.

I am more sedate because of a bad hip and artificial leg. But I am diabetic, type ll and my doctor says I should walk. I need to do this about 3 times a week, and 20 minutes at a time. But I have arthritis and fibromyalgia too and it is hard for me.
Try to eat more vegetables and fruits rather than starchy food like potatoes, pastas, breads. And make sure to include 8-10 glasses of water per day. It reduces water retention and flushes out your body. (I’m low on this factor also but I am trying)
