Losing Weight ! ! ! ! !?

I need to lose weight.
I want to lose some before i go back to school in 3 weeks, how much do you think is a acheivable target?
What are ways to lose the weight – Went running today, and i couldn’t run much! My knees went! ( ive always had bad knees lol!)
And healthy meals and stuff like that :]
Just general tips and tricks and do’s and donts :D
How long roughly will it take me to lose 12 kg if i eat healthy and exercise?

    Healthy weight loss should not exceed 2 lbs (approx 1 kg) per week. At that rate, it will take you approx 3 – 4 months to lose 12 kg.
    Muscle burns fat, so you need to work your pectoral (chest) muscles. Try push-ups. Yes, you will get more muscle, but they won’t be nearly as big and flabby as moobs.
    General tips:
    Don’t eat anything fried, greasy, or cheesy
    Don’t eat after 7pm
    Drink six 8oz glasses of water per day
    Do 30-60 minutes of cardio per day (or at least 4 days out of the week)
    Get 8 hours of sleep every night
    Drink at least one glass of milk every day
    Good luck! …and remember, nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

    TIPS.
    I got some from my volleyball coach, she knows a lot about fitness.
    Don’t do strength exercises yet!!! You will build muscle, but you won’t be able to tell in some places because it will be under some fat. Especially around your pecs (uh… moobs) because you need to do cardio FIRST. The moobs will disappear if you do cardio and cut down on fat. Don’t eat junk! If you have to, go low fat or “diet” on some labels. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables. Stick to the food pyramid, balance is best!
    Cardio and aerobics are good to lose weight, because you burn fat. For the running, you should go to a gym and run on an elliptical. This will reduce the impact on your knees a ton. Or, go buy some knee pain orthotics for your shoes and a lightweight knee brace. I need to have these too :)
    Anyways, once you do a lot of cardio and lose weight, you can tone up and build muscle weight!

    Cut back on eating, don’t eat as much junk food. Soda is a definite no no. If you drink a lot of soda, just cutting soda out alone is enough to lose weight. Trust me, been there done that.
    Running isn’t as good for you as people think. It’s bad on your joints. Walking is just as good for losing weight, and better on your body.

    well eat healthy
    and dont eat
    fast food
    /greasy foods
    and do some
    weight lifting
    if you cant run
    or some
    dancing
    it really works
