When You Lose Weight And Are On The Last 5 Pds Does It Come Off Your Upper Body First ?

I am 5′3″ and weigh 120 female. I am on a strict high protien/low fat diet. I have worked out for 3 years doing 5 days cardio/5 day weight training. Very intense workouts. I just moved and was unable to workout for 6 months. During the 6 months, I have not drank alcohol and ate fairly healthy. I lost 5 lbs in the 6 months. Now that I am working out again I noticed my upper body is very lean, and I am getting all muscle tone back. Not used to seeing collarbone and sternum bones though. Will weight loss eventually work its way south for the last 5 lbs? Don’t want to lose anymore up top! Not much left!

It’s good to hear your body is reacting well to Muscle Memory. This is very good as it will help you lose more calories throughout the day. Each lbs of muscle helps burn..between 3 to 30 calories more per hour. The bad news is that each person is different and will lose weight anywhere in the body. There’s no specific way to target that part of the body unless you’re working it (weight-training with it). As lean muscle will help burn the fat over time.
I would like to say Kudos though. That’s impressive, 3 years of working out is amazing.

For me, the last 5 pounds seemed to come from my inner thighs. The first 30 seemed to come from my waist and butt, and the rest came off evenly.

I have lost about 30 pounds this yr and my weight first came off my thighs and legs. My neck and hands are smaller but thats really all that I notice.
I think everyone is different and you’ll probably get a bunch of different answers here.
