Will Walking 2 Miles 4-5 Days A Week Help Me Lose Weight?
I’m a nineteen year old male, 6″4 and 246 lbs. I want to walk 2 miles a day but I plan to build my endurance up so i can jog 2 miles. But for now, is walking 2 miles a day enough to drop a few pounds.
Yes it will help as long as you don’t pig out on candy bars and junk food in between. Eat healthy foods low in fat and sugar
Weight loss is all about a calorie deficit.
Y = Amount of calories burned every day just by living (usually around 2000-2500)
X = Calories ingested through food
Z = Calories burned through exercise
Y < X – Z <–Weight Loss
So basically, if the amount of calories you take in is less than the amount of calories you burn just by living, you will lose weight. Cardio only helps create a bigger deficit and creates a greater cardiovascuar fitness.
Yes, and if you have some gentle hills near where you live work up to walking up and down those. You may want to start out this program on level ground though.
Yes definitely! Walking is a very common and effective form of exercise. Keep it up!
