I Need Some Advice/help With Dieting And Losing Weight.?

I am a 23 year old mother of 2 children. I am about 50 pounds overweight. I am looking to lose weight fast. Between bills , rent and my children I don’t have the money to get the expensive “diet” pills or to join a program like weight watchers etc. I need to know what kind of workouts to do , for how long. I get out of breath very easily and also get tired quickly. I have the motivation but everything I have done hasn’t seemed to work for me. I need some GOOD advice from people who are in the same situation as me and from people who were overweight and have lost the weight fast. I would like to lose at least 20 pounds or more in a 2 month time period. Thank you to anyone for the help !

My first though was to suggest the DVD in the link below, which is Jillian Michaels from “The Biggest Loser”, but if you tire easily it may be too intense for you in the beginning. You could still try it and as you become tired, just do modified versions of the workouts. The important thing is to keep moving.
My wife did Weight Watchers along with walking and lost about 50 lbs in 6 months. I know you don’t want to do WW because of the cost. Weight Watchers is just an easy way for you to keep track of what you eat with a built in supprt group. You can still keep track of what you eat the old fashioned way, counting calories.
Give yourself around 1500 calories a day. If you can’t do the DVD, then just start walking. My wife started off walking (3mph) 20-30 minutes three times a week. As the weight came off she gradually increased the amount of time and intensity. Now (2 years later) she runs everyday for 60-75 minutes and is basically addicted to running. Good luck!

I hear a lot of people in your situation saying similar things. It’s understandable, but when you’re asking about losing over 20lbs in 2 months, I like to recommend that you pretend one of your children is asking you how to do that. Your instant reaction (should be): “You can’t, that’s just not healthy.” You must understand that dropping weight OMG FASSSST shouldn’t be your goal. I’m not saying you have to lose only 1lb a month or something, but when you start doing unhealthy things to push it, it bites you in the a** later in the way of having you regain the weight, making you feel more lost and helpless. Not good. If you lose weight in a way that is “maintainable,” then you’ll be just fine and you can certainly lose a considerable amount! I lost about 100lbs in about 10 months…no pills, no plans, no diet foods, nothing. Just good ol’ nutrition and exercise.
I would love to give you my plan, but chances are we don’t have the same goals (and more power to you if you do!). I just typically find that my fellow femmes aren’t as interested in muscle mass as I am. If you are, awesome…otherwise, I’ll need to tailor a plan to your goals. I know that you want to lose weight, but you need to ask yourself what kind of physique you’re going for. People who just pick weight loss as a goal have a hard time with it because when they lose the weight, the did it through improper eating and improper diet, leaving them with improper (aka, sh*tty) results. They’re smaller, but still flabby…that’s why the term “skinny fat” is getting more popular.
If you can find a picture of a gal whose body you adore, you can just email that to me. Otherwise, explain what you’re looking for. Throw in mental things, too, like stress-relief, if you have those issues as well. Just shoot me an email and I’ll be happy to help!

you don’t have to spend anything extra to lose weight. for exercise, you could play with your kids. take them for walks. take them to the park and push them on the swing. any movement will burn calories and help you lose. cleaning house will also. watch what you eat. eat a well balanced diet with proper portions, drink plenty of water, and get at least 30 minutes of exercise every day. borrow exercise DVDs from the public library if you don’t want to go out much. eat more fruits and vegetables. get your kids to eat them also so they grow up healthy. I eat Lean Cuisine and Weight Watcher frozen meals so I know I’m getting the right portions. sometimes I drink Slim Fast shakes. you can get coupons, but even without them, the shakes don’t cost much.

If you work super hard, you may lose more than 20 pounds in two months! Here are some tips :]
Do not eat foods that are frozen or are already ready. If you can’t do that, try eating the healthier packed foods.
Eat veggies! Think of how many calories you would eat if you ate chips instead of a cup of veggies!
Also, you have to drink MORE water! It helps you metabolism and helps your digestive system. So your stomach won’t be full of gunk and other things.
For breakfest don’t eat BACON! Or sausage . Instead eat eggs. Try two eggs but take the yellow part out of ONLY ONE. And maybe have toast are some fruit. Smoothies are also a very good choice.
I prefer eating less meats and more nuts. But I say stay away from Pork. Eat only a teeny bit of beef. And eat more chicken, turkey, fish, shrimp, etc.
Here are some motovation tips: You have to have atleast 60-120 minutes of physical activity.
You probaly have low stamina. SO eat BEFORE you have physical activity. For example, take walks. If you need to catch your breath, take a break. And always bring water! Do cardio. its the best exersice and helps you BURN fat! Example of it is jogging or waling briskly.
If you can’t do cardio, do pilates or yoga.
Also always keep a journal of what you eat and don’t give up!
    Good luck :D

Negative Calorie Foods

The phrase, "negative calorie food", as highlighted in negative calorie diet programs and books, usually refers to foods that allegedly require more energy to digest than they contain. Since the process of digestion requires the use of calories for energy, sometimes the net amount of metabolizable energy available from a food is less than the gross number of calories contained in the food.
