Is Running Good For Losing Weight?
…I’m thinking of getting some running shoes and giving it a go….I really want concave, thin thighs – will it work with a 1000 calorie diet?
Thanks.

Yes, running is one of the best workouts for losing weight.
This is because it uses the biggest muscle groups in your entire body, your legs. Therefore many more calories are required to power these muscles, so more calories are burned. I would recommend running everyother day instead of everyday, because it is very hard on your legs. Another great exercise for losing weight is swimming. Swimming is probaly the best way to exercise to tone the body because it targets the largest number of muscles.
If you’re going to exercise you need to consume more than 1000 calories. A woman should consume about 1200-1500 calories per day, and that’s without exercise. Consuming 1000 calories even without exercise puts you in borderline starvation mode; you will lose water weight (which is quickly gained) and you wouldn’t be getting rid of fat. If you’re going to exercise, eat 1500 calories (fruits, vegetables, protein, fiber, NO DIET DRINKS) and drink plenty of water. Substitute herbs and spices for mayonnaise and salt. *Watch portion sizes, they’re smaller than you think.*
As far as getting your thighs smaller, you can’t target where you lose weight. Running will build muscle in your legs and help with bringing your heart rate up, but that’s about it. While your legs might get bigger from muscle, you’ll lose fat, so your legs won’t jiggle. Also, your muscles will get used to running; you need to switch up your routine. Take an aerobics class or invest in some DVDs, or look up some exercises online. Good leg workouts are squats, climbing stairs, lunges, jumping…
Yes, absolutely running is an excellent way to lose fat, get some music and you could probably run for hours….as far as calories, stick with 1200, usually lower will mentally screw your brain up and itll become harder to do anything, sometimes the effects stay with you.
running is cardio which is good for weight loss. but if you only eat 1000 calories you won’t have enough energy to run and then lose weight…depending on your height, gender and current weight will calculate the amount of calories you need-but at least 1500 calories.
Yes, running is great. I did cross country, track, and soccer for years and never had to worry about my weight. I would mix it up though with weight training, swimming, and biking though, or you’re going to get bored and burnt out!
It will definitely may you lose weight but you need to stick to it,to get the results that you want.Diet and exercise are the keys to losing weight.Good Luck!
one of the best things. and however many calories you were taking in, cut it by 3/4 every week. if you don’t eat enough you’re gonna lose metabolism and you’ll start to plateau.
I went for a 5 mile run on Friday evening, my legs feel like somebody is hammering metal stakes into them and I seem to be walking like C3PO ….
Still felt good to run though after leaving it for a couple of years.
