Is Swimming A Decent Substitute To Running When It Comes To Losing Weight?

I hate to sound lazy, but I hate running because I get all sweaty and my breathing becomes rough and it’s just not an attractive feeling.
However, I am a very good swimmer and I love to swim. I don’t even view it as exercise. I can swim non-stop across my pool for an hour.
Will I still lose as much weight swimming as I would if I were running?
Thanks.

Yes, swimming is a good all around exercise.

No it wouldnt because you do more work when you run. The reason why your breath is like that is because you are not in shape, and getting sweaty means that you are making progress

you know i really don’t know but you should try it for yourself and see if it works for you. i think any one you do is better than not doing it at all.

Yes, swimming is an excellent way to lose weight. But I always found that running gave me the best results. If you hate running, just do it 2 or 3 times a week and save the rest of your workouts for swimming. Just make sure you get your heart rate up; it should feel like a workout.
    You could also try biking.
    Good luck!
