sprinting is better for losing weight than running long distance at a steady pace. a good thing to try if you dont have a treadmill is going to a track or oval and sprinting 100m then walking or jogging back to where you started and repeating for around 20 minutes (if you can last that long if not just do as long as you can and slowly build up, you should be feeling a bit sick when you finish and like you cant physically do anymore). this raises your metabolism so you continue burning calories for some hours after you have finished exercising, for this reason it is best to do it in the morning if you can and not eat for at least an hour after you finish.

Both! You exercise different bodily systems, and gain fitness in different ways. Running for an hour will burn more calories, but will have only small impact on your metabolism and musculature–it will develop your cardiovascular system and you will gain endurance, though. Sprinting is not aerobic activity, and will not improve endurance, but it will stimulate your fast twitch muscle fibers and develop your muscles so they will burn more calories at rest.

dashing is better. When you run long distances your body gets used to the constant strain you’re putting on it, but with sprints you are constantly changing the amount of energy you are using, thus making you burn more. Annddd you dont have to deal with the strain that long distance puts on your knees. :D and knee replacements are not fun.

You’ll lose fat either way. Interval training is the fastest way to lose fat. However, sprinting for the short distances (as opposed to a steady jog for a few minutes, walk for 1-2 minutes) will build up the size of the muscles in your thighs and butt. Sprinting for short distances is the best way to increase speed.

Walking a mile and running a mile will burn about the same amount of calories as you are moving the same mass over the same distance. it will not help your CV system tho. You can burn the calories this way.

    Dashing is too sporatic.
You need to get your heart rate over a certain level and keep it there for at least 20 minutes.
Running distance continuously is the best
