Is Losing Weight Without Dieting Normal?
I’ve lost a few pounds in the last couple of weeks but I havent changed anything that I eat, I’m eating as normal and doing my usual amount of excercise. I have been stressed lately and worried about things so could this be what it is?
I thought you had to diet to lose weight. well actually the only thing i have changed is eating brown bread instead of white but I dont think that could be the reason. or could it? can anyone shed some light?
yes, brown bread is wheat bread. whole grains often help you manage or loose weight. sounds like your body really reacts to what you eat. and stress can be the root of many issues, but i’d have to say that its the whole grain bread. you eat it and you exercise, so thats a great way to “loose” weight, you get what im saying? am i shedding any light on the issue?
A slight fluctuation is normal. Are you just noticing this now or have you just started weighing yourself more often? Stress can effect your body in different ways although other underlying causes should be check for by your doctor.
I think it’s fairly normal, I lose and gain weight according to my menstrual cycle and if I’m stressed I tend to drop a few pounds. It may even be that with a bit more fibre in your diet you are having more regular bowel movements which can effect your weight depending on what time of day you weigh yourself!
Hey there! this has also happened to me recently. I had lost 5lbs within 2 weeks without being on some sort of diet. The reason why i had lost it was becuase i was just being a little more active than usuall just hangin with friends or walking to places instead of driving. As in brown bread do you mean wheat? yeah…wheat bread can cause you to lose just as long as you dont eat alot of it especially white bread which is actualy bad for you because it is actually wheat bread stripped from all of its nutrients that are good for you.
first reason surely is the stress – and yes, the brown bread makes a difference. it contains full grain, and that can be better processed by your body.
congratulations!
Well yes, if we take in more energy than we can metabolise we put on weight, take in less we lose it.
I think stress can effect our body chemistry, you may feel like your diet is the same- it may not be, but also you may be more active or just simply your body may need more energy.
If you drink more coffee, your metabloism will quicken. If you pace up and down, or suddenly run about, you need more energy to power your muscles.
As the person points out, slight changes of a few pounds are normal fluctuations, more than that over several weeks- it is time to worry.
I wouldn’t worry about a small dip, but if it continues go and see a doctor.
Yes, but it would be more work to burn those calories off.
Sometimes it is normal, any how Visiting Doctor will be great Idea
Sepending on how much you weight you lost. Losing a lot of weight without any reason may be a health issue. I would consult a doctor if you keep on shedding those pounds for no reason. I know this becasue I am sick and my doctors concern is me losing weight without even dieting. Believe me, I don’t mind losing this weight but appraently, it’s due to medical reasons. So my advice is to seek for your own pewrsonal MD’s advice.
don’t panic, but the classic symptoms of diabetes are -losing weight (without dieting) ,excess urination, allways thirsty, fainting.
if you continue to lose weight, see a doctor !
i don’t mean to freak you out , just keep an eye on things , good luck.
Are you exercising any more than usual? if not i would imagine that the stress you are going through is why. If the weight loss is continual and you haven’t changed you normal routine, you should seek medical advice as there may be an underlying problem.
this could be normal, I tend to do the same too…..maybe your thyroid is put into accelerated mode this time each year, and you dont know it…. there is no real explanation you can get, but if this is going to worry you, I would advize that you go see a doctor about it…..
try this one out.
Weigh yourself in the morning, right when you wake up, (neckid), then, weigh yourself in the evening right before you go to bed (neckid again), then again in the morning.
You will see that you fluctuated within about 5 lbs, it’s just your natural way.
And that is normal.
All sorts of things can be going on though, perhaps you are eating “as usual” but, maybe this week you had a vew more veggies and less fattning food. Veggies fill you up without being stored in your fat cells.
Weight is not really that great of a “measurement” for people because we are constantly taking eating and taking in water, as well as getting rid of it, through our biological functions.
If you really want a measurement get your fat content checked.
